eLibraryUSA Helps University Student Leader Become an A Student

The U.S. Embassy Nairobi’s American Reference Center (ARC) hosted over 50 University of Nairobi law students for an introduction to the ARC and the eLibraryUSA on May 21, 2014.  ARC Deputy Director Nashon Akello introduced the students to relevant full-text databases that included ebrary, Academic One File, Business Source Premier and GREENR to enable the students to do in-depth research.  Public Affairs Officer Michael Greenwald discussed a number of embassy programs including President Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Washington Fellowship.  Information Resource Officer Henry Mendelsohn encouraged the students to consider graduate studies in the United States.  Student leader James Kimani, who organized the visit, commented that the eLibraryUSA resources helped him to improve his grade from a B to an A and hence his motivation to introduce the students to the American Reference Center.
