English Access Microscholarship Program
The English Access Microscholarship Program (Access) provides a foundation of English language skills to bright students between the ages of 13 to 20 in underserved areas of Kenya. Access programs give participants English skills that may lead to better jobs and educational prospects. Participants also gain the ability to compete for and participate in future exchanges and study in the United States. American English Online Language Resources
The American English website provides resources for teaching and learning English as a Foreign Language (EFL), exploring American culture, and encouraging conversation within the global EFL community. This online platform provides a variety of engaging materials and resources for teachers’ professional development and for students in the classroom. Online Professional English Network Program
The Online Professional English Network (OPEN) program offers virtual learning opportunities to foreign English language educators, professionals, and learners worldwide. OPEN promotes mutual exchange of culture and provides free access to teaching and learning materials which can be reused, adapted, and shared with others. OPEN professional development opportunities are developed by U.S. academic institutions and experts in the field of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). The U.S. Embassy in Kenya facilitates English teachers’ participation in a 10-week professional development course.
