The U.S. Department of State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) Signing Ceremony for Wildlife Grants Agreement

Ministry of Environment, Water and Natural Resources

U.S. Ambassador to Kenya Robert F. Godec together with the Ministry of Environment, Water and Natural Resources signed a Wildlife Grant Agreement through the U.S. Department of State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) on September 1.  In 2013, President Obama announced $10 million in U.S. government funding to support anti-poaching activities in Africa.  He pledged $3 million of that amount to go to Kenya specifically.

The $3 million will lend more assistance to Kenyan community conservancies, aid in investigations into wildlife crime and support the prosecution and judicial handling of wildlife cases that go to court.
