Washington Fellows Presidential Summit Starts on July 28

In advance of the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit, 500 of Africa’s most talented and inspiring young people will come together for a Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Washington Fellows Presidential Summit in Washington, DC on July 28-30.  This summit will give young African leaders studying in the United States the opportunity to meet with President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, Secretary of State John Kerry, and other leaders from the public, private, and non-profit sectors.  The participants received six-weeks of academic coursework and training at 20 of America’s top universities in one of three tracks:  civic leadership, public management, and business and entrepreneurship.

There are 46 young leaders from Kenya attending the Summit this year.
